This walking tour is based on the book “Detroit Beer – A History of Brewing in the Motor City.” Written by Stephen Johnson\, the owner of Motor City Brew Tours.\nFrequently Asked Questions:\nDo I get sent an actual ticket? No. We will have the name you registered with on a will-call list at event check-in. \nWhat is included with the tour ticket? The tour ticket includes tour guide and historical commentary\, pint of tier 1 or 2 beer at the brewery and a free MCBT gift. Tips to the tourguide are optional\, but appreciated.\nWhen & Where: Event check-in – inside Eastern Market Brewing Co – 2515 Riopelle St\, Detroit\, MI 48207 – 12:30pm. The tour guide will be seated on the red bench just inside the brewery. Please arrive on time! We operate on a specific timeline. Please be at the designated departure location at least 15 minutes prior to the tour’s start time. Call or text the number listed on your ticket with any issues. Parking is available on the street and in the many Eastern Market surface lots.\nIs my registration/ticket transferable? Reservation Fees received by Motor City Brew Tours for Tours are non-refundable and not transferable to other events. If you are unable to attend an event\, tour tickets can be transferred to another guest. They just give your name at the event event check in. Motor City Brew Tours reserves the right to cancel a tour. Should this occur\, your reservation fee will be transferable toward another event or fully refunded.\nHow do I redeem a gift certificate? Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the tour. Advance ticket purchases are available through the afternoon the Friday before the tour. If there is a date missing from the tour page\, the tour for that location/date is sold out. Tickets may be refunded up to 7 days prior to the date of a tour; after that\, tickets are not refundable. \n \nFor any and all tours we offer\, we request that groups of more than 6 purchase advance tickets. Groups of 15-20 are able to receive a group discount for Saturday 10am tours. We do offer private tours for groups of any size on any day of the week. Historic high-rises\, towering monuments\, grand boulevards\, parks and plazas are all part of this groundbreaking tour. Spanning over 300 years of Detroit history\, see Detroit gems from streetscape to skyline. \n \nOur experienced guides will share the evolving story of Detroit’s vibrant downtown area\, from Cadillac’s landing to the most recent development news. As Michigan’s oldest preservation organization\, our entirely volunteer-run tours draw curious and passionate Detroiters and visitors alike.  \n \nThe tour meets at 10 am next to the fountain in Campus Martius Park\, rain or shine. \n \nItems to note about our tours: All tours take place rain or shine\, and are about 2 to 2.5 hours long. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the tour. Advance ticket purchases are available through the afternoon the Friday before the tour. If there is a date missing from the tour page\, the tour for that location/date is sold out. Tickets may be refunded up to 7 days prior to the date of a tour; after that\, tickets are not refundable. \n \nFor any and all tours we offer\, we request that groups of more than 6 purchase advance tickets. Groups of 15-20 are able to receive a group discount for Saturday 10am tours. We do offer private tours for groups of any size on any day of the week. This is the tour’s 46th year. It is the second oldest historic home tour of its kind in Michigan\, preceded only by the Marshall Michigan Historic Home Tour.\n\nNew for 2019:  In addition to our regular tour\, we are offering a guaranteed guided tour ticket.\nVIP Curated Tour Experience – very limited availability\nBegin your day with coffee and pastries from a uniquely Detroit bakery in a Village home not on this year’s tour\, then set out on a guided tour lead by a long-time Village resident.\n \n\nFAQs:\nWhere do I redeem the advance tickets I just purchased?\n Advanced purchases are redeemed on tour day at The Detroit Waldorf School\, 2555 Burns Avenue\, only.  Please print your tickets or bring a photo ID with you to pick up your wristbands and tour books.  Online tickets must be picked up at The Detroit Waldorf School only\, and only on the day of the tour!\n\nCan I purchase a Guided Tour?\nA limited number of guided walking tour tickets can be purchased for an additional $10 when you pick up your advance ticket purchases at The Detroit Waldorf School.  The tour should last a maximum of 3 hours.  The guided walking tour covers five pre-selected homes and the first guided tour begins on Saturday at 10am and will leave as soon as slots are filled.    Sunday’s guided tours begin at 12:30pm. THESE TOURS WILL SELL OUT QUICKLY.  All guided tours are subject to availability and are on a first come\, first served basis.\nA bit more about Guided Tours: “The guided tour is a walking tour with an Indian Village guide.  The guided tour takes about 3 hours. The guides provide information about the homes NOT on tour; of course the homes and gardens on the Tour will have information provided by the docents at each site. Tour groups consist of 10-15 people.
