Black Paradise: Black Bottom & Paradise Valley Bus Tour

Join this ALL-DAY BUS TOUR through historic sites, churches, schools and important places connected to Detroit’s historic Black neighborhoods of Black Bottom & Paradise Valley. We will also visit sites in downtown Detroit, Eastern Market and Brush Park. 
 
Visit the sites of the 5 of the oldest churches in Detroit, including the oldest Black church in the state of Michigan.
Visit the historic schools of Black Bottom! 
Visit what was the center of Paradise Valley – the historic Black business and entertainment district! 
 
We will also go to the site of the NEW Paradise Valley!

Visit the site of the first Black hospital in Detroit! 
Visit the first federal housing project in the United States!

Join historian and Tour Leader Jamon Jordan as he leads this all-day bus tour that will open your eyes into the true history of Detroit.
 
We Meet at the Parking Lot on Russell and Wilkins, where we will board the bus and start the tour! 
 
We will return to Eastern Market halfway into the tour to have lunch at Bert’s Restaurant. LUNCH IS ON YOUR OWN! It is NOT included in the TOUR PRICE.
